The procedure for obtaining entry visa for the NKR

According to the Law of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic on “Legal Status of Foreign Citizens in the Nagorno Karabakh Republic" of 31 August 2001 the entry of foreign citizens to the Nagorno Karabakh Republic is allowed on the availability of valid foreign passports or other documents replacing them, and a NKR entry visa.

Nagorno Karabakh Republic entry visas for foreign nationals are issued at the Permanent Mission of NKR to the Republic of Armenia (17a/2 Nairi Zaryan st, Yerevan 0051), аs well as at the border checkpoints of the Republic of Artsakh (Kashatagh region, town of Berdzor, checkpoint of Aghavno, and Shahumian region, town of Karvachar, checkpoint of Kharkhaput. Entry visas can also be issued in the Consular Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the NKR, in the city of Stepanakert.

A visa-free regime is in force for citizens of  Georgia and CIS countries (except Turkmenistan).

To obtain an entry visa a foreign national is required to present the following:

  • Identification document (passport)
  • Filled-in visa application
  • One 3x4 sized photo

Visa duration and state fees are as follows:

Working Hours of the Consular Division of the NKR MFA:
Monday – Friday, 9.00 – 18.00
Saturday, 12.00 – 15.00

Working hours of the Consular Divisionof the Permanent Mission of the NKR to the Republic of Armenia:
Monday – Friday, 9.00 – 18.00
