Freedom House recognized NKR as a “partly free” country


On January 23, the non-governmental organization Freedom House, which conducts research on the current state of political and civil liberties in the world, published its annual report, according to which the Nagorno Karabakh Republic, as in previous year, according to both criteria got “5” and was again named as a “partly free” country.

At the same time Azerbaijan remained in the category of “not free” countries, moreover, a deterioration of situation, concerning the civil liberties, was underlined in the report.Freedom House assesses the activity of the authorities of the world’s states per two criteria: political and civil liberties. Each of these dimensions is assessed on a scale from 1 (maximum) to 7 (minimum).
